Residence Le Benedettine - housed in the former monastery on Lungarno Sonnino - is the University of Pisa’s new guesthouse that provides accommodation for both Italian and international students, researchers and professors.
The newly renovated three-story housing covers 1900m², is situated in the old town, and is walking distance from the central train station, various other public transport services and the main university buildings, schools and departments.
Residence le Benedettine is made up of 44 rooms and is suitable for short, medium and long-term stays.
Room types include: single, single with French bed, twin and double (although some double rooms can be considered small apartments). Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, LAN cable, 32-inch LCD TV, and most rooms have a kitchen cabinet.
The newly manufactured furnishings comply with the international regulations for user safety.
All rooms are provided with air-conditioning and central heating, and a launderette can be found on the ground floor.
Communal areas – there are several communal areas including study and reading rooms, rooms for relaxing, a conference room, internal courtyard and a dining area with hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and vending machines. The University of Pisa’s Wi-Fi network can be accessed from all of these areas.
The Reception on the ground floor manages check-in and check-out services and is available to provide guests with assistance and tourist information. A concierge service is provided daily from Monday to Sunday - including holidays - from 7.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. Guests that require assistance outside of these hours will need to use a personal smart card.
Residence Le Benedettine ensures the safety of its guests as surveillance is in operation at the entrances, communal areas and car park.
